ABOUT
Lucid Body-trained actor, director, coach, and fight choreographer Lara García Landa (she/they) is a queer Mexican artist based in New York City. She is the youngest certified Lucid Body instructor in the world and currently serves as the Lucid Body New York Program Director. Lara is also an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD), as well as a fight and intimacy choreographer.
Lara received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater, with honors, from New York University in 2020. While at NYU, she trained at Tisch School of the Arts’s Experimental Theatre Wing and spent a semester studying abroad at NYU Berlin in the Stanislavski, Brecht and Beyond program, where she participated in the Festival Internationale Neue Dramatik (FIND) Plus program.
Driven by a lifelong passion for storytelling, Lara has explored many areas of theater-making, including writing, stage management, and producing, though her primary focus remains acting and directing. She is particularly drawn to collaborative work that challenges the status quo, explores social issues, and encourages audiences to question their perspectives and engage more deeply with the world around them.
Lara currently teaches regularly at the Lucid Body House and serves as a Stage Combat Teaching Assistant at NYU Tisch alongside J. David Brimmer. She also works as a private acting coach and freelance fight and intimacy choreographer.
