Lara García Landa (she/they) is an up-and-coming queer Mexican actor, director, filmmaker, and fight choreographer based in New York City. Driven by a lifelong passion for physical, narrative-driven storytelling, Lara specializes in collaborative, multi-medium theater and film-making that challenges the status quo, explores pressing social issues, and encourages audiences to engage more deeply with the world around them.

A leader in somatic actor training, Lara is the youngest certified Lucid Body instructor in the world and proudly serves as the Program Director for The Lucid Body New York. Complementing her deep background in psychophysical movement, they are an Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD). Lara frequently channels this dual expertise into her work as a freelance fight and intimacy choreographer, private acting coach, and Stage Combat Teaching Assistant at Arte Violenta and at NYU Tisch School of the Arts alongside J. David Brimmer.

Lara holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater with honors from NYU Tisch (2020), where they trained intensively at the Experimental Theatre Wing. Expanding her artistic horizons globally, she spent a semester studying international performance traditions at NYU Berlin. While acting, directing, and filmmaking remain her primary creative horizons, Lara’s holistic devotion to the craft has led her to explore multiple facets of the industry, including playwriting, stage management, and producing.
